Session 7: The Boundaries of Knowledge

Reading time...

Opening

Time helps us coordinate and plan. In experience, though, there is only this happening. The rest is memory and anticipation. Finitude clarifies priorities—not by fear, but by intimacy with the present.

Clock-time vs. lived time

Clock-time is a tool. Lived time is immediacy. Confusing the two breeds anxiety (“not enough time”). Used properly, the clock supports—not replaces—Knowing.

Death & presence

We are finite. Rather than a problem to solve, this is a teacher: it sharpens kindness and precision now. Meaning comes from contact, not from guarantees about later.
