Constitution

This document is one window within Wide Open Windows. It describes the principles that presently guide the project. Like every other window, it remains open to revision.

This Constitution does not define lived experience. It defines the principles that currently guide this particular investigation.

It begins neither with theories nor with conclusions, but with the simple recognition that everything we know, believe, imagine or question appears within experience.

This project exists to explore that fact.

It is not a system of thought, a philosophy, or a doctrine. It is an open field of investigation in which books, essays, images, conversations and digital spaces form a living diorama of experience.

Visitors are invited to enter anywhere, follow their own curiosity, and discover connections that cannot be prescribed in advance.

Article I — Experience Comes First

Experience is the ground from which every worldview arises.

Science, philosophy, religion, psychology and everyday common sense all describe experience from within experience itself.

No description stands outside it.

Article II — Openness

Wide Open Windows makes no claim to possess a final account of reality.

Every perspective reveals something.

Every perspective conceals something.

The purpose of inquiry is not to eliminate this plurality but to understand it.

Openness is therefore not indecision.

It is a disciplined refusal to close the investigation prematurely.

Article III — The Dioramic Approach

Experience is approached as a rhizome rather than as a hierarchy.

Different experiential worlds may coexist without one being more fundamental than another.

Understanding develops by moving between perspectives, comparing them, inhabiting them, and observing how each gives shape to what appears to be real.

Article IV — Windows

Every page is a window.

Every window may be entered independently.

No page is merely a chapter.

No page is merely a destination.

Each window is complete enough to stand alone while remaining connected to a larger constellation of ideas, experiences and investigations.

Article V — The Rhizome

The Rhizome is the connective tissue of the project.

It does not dictate a route.

It reveals relationships.

Navigation is therefore not movement from beginning to end, but exploration through a network of meaningful connections.

Article VI — Publications

Books, essays, investigations, visual works and future media are different expressions of the same inquiry.

None is considered definitive.

Each contributes another perspective to the evolving landscape.

Article VII — Evolution

Wide Open Windows is a living project.

It is expected to change.

New windows may appear.

Old windows may disappear.

Connections may be revised.

Growth is documented openly through the project's changelog.

Revision is regarded not as correction, but as continuation.

Article VIII — Precision

Language deserves care.

Concepts should clarify rather than obscure.

Complexity should emerge from the subject itself, never from unnecessary complication.

The project values careful observation above rhetorical certainty.

Article IX — Hospitality

Wide Open Windows welcomes visitors from every discipline, tradition and worldview.

Agreement is never required.

Curiosity is sufficient.

Article X — Invitation

There is no required path.

No privileged starting point.

No final destination.

There is only the invitation to look carefully, remain open, and continue the investigation.

Closing

Every world opens some windows while closing others.

Wide Open Windows exists to explore what becomes visible when windows remain open.
